Baker

Bakers are users on the Tezos blockchain who are responsible for appending new transaction blocks via the Proof-of-Stake baking method. Bakers must have a minimum balance of 10,000 XTZ in order to be eligible for baking. In return for their service, bakers earn a block reward and a fee for each transaction included in the block.

Baking is the process of creating new blocks on the Tezos blockchain. Bakers use the Proof-of-Stake consensus algorithm to validate transactions and create new blocks. In order to be eligible for baking, bakers must have a minimum balance of 10,000 XTZ.

When a baker creates a new block, they earn a block reward and a fee for each transaction included in the block. The block reward is paid out in XTZ, and the fees are paid in the currency of the transaction. For example, if a baker creates a block that includes a transaction in EUR, they would earn a fee in EUR.

Bakers play an important role in the Tezos ecosystem, and their service is essential to the functioning of the blockchain.
