Changpeng Zhao (Cz)
Changpeng Zhao, or CZ for short, is the founder of Binance, a cryptocurrency exchange. CZ is a serial entrepreneur who has founded a number of successful startups, including Fusion Systems, a high-frequency trading software firm. He is also a well-known angel investor and a thought leader in the cryptocurrency space. CZ was born in Jiangsu, China, in 1966. He moved to Canada with his family when he was just 13 years old. He studied computer science at McGill University and later worked as a software engineer at Bloomberg LP in New York. In 2005, he founded Fusion Systems, a high-frequency trading software firm. The company was acquired by Thomson Reuters in 2014. In 2017, CZ founded Binance, a cryptocurrency exchange. Binance quickly became the largest cryptocurrency exchange in the world by trading volume. In 2018, CZ was named one of the "Top 100 Global Thinkers" by Foreign Policy magazine. CZ is a strong advocate for the adoption of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology. He is a firm believer that cryptocurrency will one day replace fiat currency. He has said that he would like to see Binance become the "global digital currency exchange" and that he believes that the cryptocurrency market will eventually be worth $1 trillion. |
