Collateralization

Collateralization is the process of setting an asset as a repayment reassurance when taking out a loan. This means that if the borrower is unable to repay the loan, the lender can seize the asset and sell it to repay the loan. Collateralization can help to reduce the risk of lending, and can therefore make it easier for borrowers to access loans.
