| ConsenSys is a blockchain software technology company that provides a variety of business solutions and developer tools. The company was founded in 2014 by Joseph Lubin, a co-founder of Ethereum. ConsenSys is headquartered in Brooklyn, New York. The company's mission is to "harness the power of Ethereum to enable a more decentralized world." ConsenSys is building a decentralized web with Ethereum, which they believe will "open up new economic opportunities and empower people around the world." ConsenSys offers a variety of products and services, including ConsenSys Cloud, a cloud-based Ethereum development platform; MetaMask, a browser extension that allows users to access Ethereum dapps; and uPort, a self-sovereign identity platform. ConsenSys also provides consulting and development services to enterprises and governments. In 2018, ConsenSys launched ConsenSys Academy, a global blockchain education initiative. The Academy offers free online courses, in-person training, and mentorship programs. The goal of the Academy is to train the next generation of blockchain developers and help build the Ethereum ecosystem. |
