Data Privacy
| Data privacy is the handling of sensitive data for security and protection. This includes ensuring that data is not accessed or used without the individual’s consent, and that it is not shared with unauthorized third parties. Data privacy is a growing concern as we increasingly share personal information online. Most countries have laws that protect data privacy, but these vary depending on the country and the type of data involved. For example, the European Union has strict laws around data privacy, known as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The GDPR applies to any company that processes the data of EU citizens, regardless of where the company is based. Data privacy is a complex issue, and companies must take care to comply with all applicable laws and regulations. They must also ensure that they have adequate security measures in place to protect the data of their customers and employees. |
