Digital Asset

Digital assets are anything of value that is stored electronically. This includes, but is not limited to, websites, software, databases, and digital media.Digital assets may be created, or they may be acquired. They may be used internally by an organization, or they may be distributed to customers, partners, or other stakeholders.

Digital assets are managed throughout their lifecycle, from creation to disposal. The management of digital assets includes, but is not limited to, the following activities:

- Identifying and classifying assets
- Tracking and auditing assets
- Storing and backing up assets
- Securing assets
- Managing versions and updates
- Disposing of assets when they are no longer needed
