Genesis Block

The first block of data that starts a new blockchain is called the Genesis Block. This block is validated by the network and contains all of the information necessary to start a new blockchain. This includes the starting block height, the timestamp, the block reward, and the difficulty. The Genesis Block is an important part of the blockchain and is necessary for the network to function properly.
