Internet Layer

The Internet layer is the third layer in the TCP/IP model and is responsible for network packet transformation. This layer is responsible for routing packets between hosts and for providing the logical addressing scheme that allows hosts to communicate with each other. The Internet layer is also responsible for ensuring that packets are delivered reliably and in order, and for providing congestion control mechanisms to prevent network congestion.
