Interplanetary File System (Ipfs)

The InterPlanetary File System (IPFS) is a peer-to-peer distributed file system that relies on a blockchain-like structure to store and share information. IPFS was created by Protocol Labs and is open source software released under the MIT License.

IPFS is a distributed file system that allows for the storage and sharing of files across a peer-to-peer network. IPFS is similar to a traditional file system in that it allows for the storage of files and directories, but it is different in that it is a distributed system that relies on a blockchain-like structure.

IPFS is designed to be a decentralized file system that is not reliant on any single point of failure. The file system is distributed across a network of nodes, each of which stores a portion of the file system. When a user wants to access a file, the user's computer will connect to the network and request the file from the nodes that have it.

The file system is designed to be scalable, so that it can grow as the needs of the users grow. The file system is also designed to be secure, so that files cannot be tampered with or deleted.

IPFS is an open source project that is released under the MIT License. The project is overseen by Protocol Labs, a research and development lab focused on building protocols and systems for a better Internet.
