Participation Node
| Nodes play an important role in the consensus process of the Algorand platform. The platform uses a Pure Proof of Stake (PPoS) system, which means that nodes must be online and participating in order to help validate transactions and keep the network running smoothly. In return for their participation, nodes are rewarded with Algos, the native currency of the Algorand platform. In order to become a participation node, there are a few requirements that must be met. First, nodes must have a minimum balance of 10,000 Algos in order to be considered for participation. Second, nodes must be online and available to participate in the consensus process. Lastly, nodes must be willing to sign blocks and transactions in order to help validate them. Participation nodes play an important role in the Algorand network and are essential to its success. By participating in the consensus process, nodes help to keep the network running smoothly and efficiently.
