Quantum Bit (Qubit)

Quantum bits, or qubits, are units of measurement for the number of bits in quantum data. In classical data, bits are either 1 or 0. Quantum data, however, can exist in multiple states simultaneously, allowing for more data to be stored in a single qubit.

For example, an electron can spin in two directions at the same time. This means that a qubit can represent two bits of information. In other words, a qubit can store twice as much information as a traditional bit.
