Ryuk Ransomware

Ryuk Ransomware is a type of targeted malicious software that first appeared in August 2018. It is believed to be developed by a group known as Grim Spider, and is considered to be a successor to the Hermes ransomware. Ryuk is unique in that it is designed to target enterprise networks, and is typically spread through email phishing campaigns. Once a network has been infected, Ryuk will encrypt critical files and demand a ransom for their decryption. Ryuk has been responsible for a number of high-profile ransomware attacks, including those against the City of New Orleans and the newspaper group Tribune Publishing.
