Silk Road

The Silk Road was an online black market that accepted Bitcoin (BTC) transactions and existed on the dark web before it was shut down by the FBI. The Silk Road was created in 2011 by Ross Ulbricht, who went by the pseudonym "Dread Pirate Roberts." The Silk Road was a marketplace for illegal drugs and other illicit goods and services. The site was accessible only through the Tor network, which allows users to remain anonymous. The Silk Road was shut down by the FBI in October 2013, and Ulbricht was arrested and charged with money laundering, drug trafficking, and conspiracy to traffic fraudulent IDs.
