Slot (Cardano)
| A slot is the shortest time period in the Cardano blockchain. Each slot is 10 seconds long, and there are 1,024 slots in each epoch. An epoch is a period of time during which the Cardano blockchain is active. Each epoch is divided into two parts: a slotting phase and a consensus phase. During the slotting phase, new blocks are created and added to the blockchain. During the consensus phase, the network validates the blocks that were created during the slotting phase. |
