Taproot
| Taproot is a Bitcoin upgrade that is set to improve the network’s privacy, scalability, and overall efficiency. It does this by using a new type of signature called a “Merkle signature” which is more efficient and private than the current “ elliptic curve signature”. Taproot also introduces a new way to scale Bitcoin called “Pay-to-Contract” which allows for more efficient and private transactions. Finally, Taproot improves the efficiency of the Bitcoin network by making it easier for users to “prune” their UTXO set. |
