Wannacry Ransomware

WannaCry Ransomware is a malicious software variant that came about in 2017. It is a ransomware cryptoworm that targets Microsoft Windows and encrypts users' files, making them inaccessible. It then demands a ransom payment in the form of Bitcoin in order to decrypt the files. 

The WannaCry ransomware attack was a worldwide cyberattack by the WannaCry ransomware cryptoworm, which targeted computers running the Microsoft Windows operating system by encrypting users' files and demanding a ransom payment in the form of Bitcoin. The attack began on May 12, 2017, and quickly spread across the globe, affecting more than 200,000 computers in 150 countries, including the United Kingdom's National Health Service, Russia's Interior Ministry, and China's universities and businesses. The WannaCry ransomware attack was unprecedented in its scale and scope, and caused widespread panic and disruption.
